Bird Watercolor Commission

Artistic Style

€45.00€35.00

An original watercolor painting of a specific bird, created as an artistic commission.

The artwork is made using a reference image selected by the artist and is an interpretation in watercolor in the artist's personal style. It is not a realistic portrait and it is not an exact copy of a photograph.

The composition features the bird on a white background or with a very soft wash of color behind the bird.

A branch may be included only if the bird in the chosen reference image is perched on one.

❋ Commission details:

  • Size: A5 or A4

  • Medium: traditional watercolor on 100% cotton paper.

  • Background: white

  • Style: artistic, non-photorealistic.

❋ Please note:

Each painting is a one-of-a-kind, hand-painted artwork.

This commission is ideal for those who appreciate artistic interpretation and trust the artist's creative vision.

Framing Recommendations for Watercolors

To preserve the delicate transparency and the rich texture of the 100% cotton paper, I recommend a thoughtful approach to framing:

  • Glass is Essential: Unlike varnished oil paintings, watercolors remain porous and sensitive to moisture and dust. Framing with glass is highly recommended to protect the integrity of the pigments and the natural fibers of the cotton paper.

  • UV Protection: For long-term preservation, I suggest using UV-protective glass (or museum glass) to prevent the colors from fading over time when exposed to natural light.

  • The Importance of the Mat (Paspartú): It is crucial to use an acid-free mat to create a small air gap between the painting and the glass. This prevents the paper from sticking to the glass and allows the cotton fibers to "breathe" through changes in humidity.

  • Frame Style: To complement the ethereal and soft nature of watercolor, I recommend light natural wood frames.
